Beginners can sign up for “basic” membership, which allows you to attend all Basics classes, Mon/Wed 6:30-7:15, and Tues/Thurs 6:00-6:45; as well as the mixed beginner/intermediate classes, Tues/Thurs 7:00-8:00, and Saturday 10:30-11:30. Basic membership is $70/month, $60 for full-time students and members under 22.

If you’ve never practiced a martial art before, we recommend the Tues/Thurs Basics classes, which teach falls and rolls, exercises, etiquette, and techniques that form the foundation of aikido practice.

To enroll, please arrive at the dojo 15 minutes before your first class. An aikido uniform (gi) is not required, but wearing loose clothing such as a t-shirt and sweat pants is recommended.

Note: The beginner's course is not required for regular training. Beginners can train with the regular classes from the start if they prefer.
