Began training at Waseda University, Tokyo in 1967. He has been teaching in the San Francisco bay area since 1973. He is founder and chief instructor of the Pacific Aikido Federation.

Don Stratton - began training in Southern California in 1970. He has been with Shiohira Shihan since 1974. He is chief instructor of the Santa Rosa Aikido Center.

Robert Laiks - began training at the San Francisco Aikido Center in 1974 under Shiohira Shihan. He is the senior instructor.

Walt Peterson - began training in Santa Rosa, California in 1974 with Stratton Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan. He was the first student at the Santa Rosa Aikido Center.

Taku Tokuyasu - began training in Chicago in 1987. He has been training under Shiohira Shihan since 1994. He trains at the San Francisco Aikido Center.

Chris Kuszmaul - began training in 1985 at the MIT Aikido Club in Massachusetts. He started training with Shiohira Shihan at the Mountain View Aikido Center in 1988. Dojo Cho of the Palo Alto Aikido Center.

Greg Barker - began training in Northern California in 1971. He has been with Shiohira Shihan since 1979. He is chief instructor of Cuesta Aikido.

Neil Toda - began training at the San Francisco Aikido Center with Shiohira Shihan in 1982. He is the chief instructor of the Tri Valley Dojo and also trains at the Palo Alto Aikido Center.

Amy Steiner - began training at the San Francisco Aikido Center in 1976 under Shiohira Shihan. Instructor.

Kumar Reddy - began training in France in 1992. He has been with Shiohira Shihan since 2000. He trains at the Palo Alto Aikido Center. Instructor.

Aaron Vick - began training in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989. He has been with Shiohira Shihan since 1997. He trains at the Palo Alto Aikido Center. Instructor.

Janferie Stone - began training at Mendocino Aikido in 1986 during its opening year with Levine Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan. She is now the chief instructor of Mendocino Aikido.

Phil Groat - began training at the Santa Rosa Aikido Center in 1981 with Don Stratton Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan.

Dean Koyama - began training in Sacramento, California in 1974 with Tri Sensei. He also trained in Japan for five years. He has been with Shiohira Shihan since 2003.

Mike Roberts - began his training in 1981 at the age of 15 in the Bay Area with Pietro Maeda Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan. The following year he continued his practice directly with Shiohira Shihan. He trains at the Palo Alto Aikido Center and looks forward happily to lifelong training in the way of Aikido.

Prashant Rangnekar - began training at the Mountain View Aikido Center in 1997 under Shiohira Shihan. Instructor. He also holds the rank of shodan in Goju-Ryu Karatedo.

Tammy Anderson - began training in California in 1982. She has been with Shiohira Shihan since 2003. She is the chief instructor of Shinzen Dojo - Clovis Aikido.

Chris Garner - began training in San Francisco in 1997 with Sharp Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan. He has been training directly with Shiohira Shihan since 2003 at the San Francisco Aikido Center. He also holds the rank of nidan in Eishin Ryu Iaido.

Victor Leitman - began training in 1990 in St. Petersburg in the former Soviet Union. After moving to the United States he has been with Shiohira Shihan since 1999. He also holds the rank of shodan in Toyama Ryu Iaido.

Sean English - began training at the Mountain View Aikido Center in 1989 under Shiohira Shihan. He currently trains at the San Francisco Aikido Center and is an instructor.

Shima Harada - began training at the San Francisco Aikido Center in 1998 under Shiohira Shihan. Instructor.

Carlos Villalobos - began training in 2002 with Shiohira Shihan at the Mountain View Aikido Center.

Akio Tachibana - began training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2005. He moved to California and started training under Shiohira Shihan at the Mountain View Aikido Center in 2009. He currently trains at the San Francisco Aikido Center.

Iain Becker - Began training in 2002 with Shiohira Shihan at the San Francisco Aikido Center. He currently trains at the Palo Alto Adult School dojo.

Ron Hsi - began training in 1999 at the Tri Valley Dojo with McClelland Sensei, a student of Shiohira Shihan. He has been the senior instructor of the Tri Valley Dojo since 2005.

Terry Wilson began training in 1994 in Finland. He has trained under Shiohira Shihan since 2002. Instructor at the Tri Valley Dojo.
